This Privacy Policy explains how Housewell LLC (“Housewell,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit our website, create an account, or use our home-maintenance services in the San Antonio, Texas area.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us
- Identity and contact details: name, email address, phone number, and service address.
- Account details: login credentials, plan selections, and preferences.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our own servers; we receive limited information such as the last four digits and a payment token.
- Property and access information: details you provide so we can perform service, which may include gate codes, alarm codes, lockbox codes, key arrangements, pet information, and notes about your home.
- Service requests and communications: task lists, Pros service requests, Pro Network requests, ratings and reviews, and messages you send us.
1.2 Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data from our website and member portal, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and cookies or similar technologies.
- Service records: visit dates, tasks completed, and Service Receipt photos of the work performed.
1.3 Information from others
We may receive information from our service providers (for example, Stripe for payment status, our scheduling/dispatch software, and our messaging provider) and, for the Pro Network, limited information from independent third-party Providers about the status of work you arranged with them.
1.4 Sensitive home-access information
We treat home-access information with special care. Gate codes, alarm codes, lockbox codes, and similar access details are used only to perform the service you requested, are shared only with the crew and systems that need them to do so, and are retained only as long as needed for that purpose or as you direct. You can ask us to delete stored access codes at any time, subject to our ability to still perform service.
2. How we use information
- To provide, schedule, and perform memberships, Helper tasks, and Pros services, and to access your property as authorized.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions and automatic renewals, and prevent fraud.
- To create and deliver Service Receipts and service history.
- To operate the Pro Network: to connect you with independent Providers when you request a licensed trade, and to communicate about those requests.
- To communicate with you about scheduling, billing, your account, and (with your consent) marketing.
- To improve our services, for analytics, security, and to comply with law.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described here:
- Service providers / processors: payment processing (Stripe), scheduling and dispatch software, CRM, messaging/SMS and email providers, hosting, and analytics, who process information on our behalf under contract.
- Independent Providers (Pro Network): when you ask us to connect you with a licensed trade, we share the information needed to make that connection, such as your name, contact details, address, and a description of the request. The Provider then handles your work directly and under its own privacy practices.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Texas residents may have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA). To exercise a right, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will verify your request and respond as the law requires. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a right.
- Marketing email: you can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
- Text messages: you can opt out as described in our SMS Terms (reply STOP).
- Cookies: you can manage cookies through your browser settings.
- Access codes: you can ask us to delete stored access codes.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, including to provide services, maintain service history, comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements, after which we delete or de-identify it. Access codes are retained only as needed to perform service.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including limiting access to access-codes and other sensitive data to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Bilingual notice
We may provide this Policy in English and Spanish. If there is a conflict between versions, the English version controls unless applicable law requires otherwise for a particular disclosure.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice as required by law.
